hi ppl... im back from the OCS commissioning ball yesterday! it was really grand,... and i had a good time :)
great thanks to cass for perming my hair, putting make up for me, dolling me up <3
cass started helping me at around 4pm, putting curlers onto my hair, chitchatting... and we only realised its 530 when my date called me and told me he was downstairs already! it was havoc lor, as everything was not done, but we manage to finish everything by 6pm... hurhur...
he picked me up from cass house and we were supposingly only 5 min car ride away from fullerton hotel. but his bother didnt know the way around and we took 40min to reach there... and my date, sy, was suppose to perform at 630 but we only reach around 645? i think sy is a really nice guy, his brother kept turning the wrong way but sy didnt complain or blame him sia... :) anyway, his name is sung yang. he is a taiwanese. he studies music in NAFA, plays violin and piano, dad is a musician and also a pastor. that's how his dad knows my dad and ya, how i came to the ball with him... anyway, we were late but he still performed with one of his fren. he played the violin while his buddy played the piano... they were good !
after that we had a photoshot... it was cool lah... a professional photographer company were at the reception of the ball to help each couple to take photos. we had to take a few couples pictures together and also a few individual shots... and they would give us for free... :)
we proceeded into the grant ballroom for our FOOD... the 5 dishes served up was very nice, i enjoyed the dessert most! while we were having our food, we had performances and activities lined up... it was interesting... i got to see the video of 9 months training for the OCS cadets, saw how their bunks are like, how their trainings in taiwan and brunei were...
For the activities, couples were called up on stage to have a mini competition of MTV dance style and bolliwood dance style. the guy and his date had to dance around a tree ( the MC) with a really classic indian song...! super funny! they had presentation and speeches by their different wings too... was really good. i wasnt bored at all... sung yang was there to explain to me about what they did, what this and that meant also... oh ya! the funniest thing of all was a surprise performance by all the officer cadets! they had a mass dance where all the guys, in their no.2 uniform, form a circle around the whole ballroom and danced together! it was funny :p
after the whole event was past 12 already... sung yang and i with his buddy and his date walked to merlion, took alot of pictures, and then we headed back home. i think sung yang was a gentleman... ocs is successful in their training (he said they were taught how to be a gentleman), he sent me to my door step and even apologised to my dad for bring me home late... haha, sound so traditional right? :)
one regret is that i didnt bring camera...
